In the middle of March, I had to go back to Tokyo for a week. Most of my trip was typical of work: conference rooms, offices and hotels. On the last night, some colleagues took me out to Akihabara to play pachinko. I will never play that game again – never did figure out exactly what was going on. It felt like a quicker way to lose money than a slot machine, yet business men were lined up at the pachinko parlor.
