What an amazing weekend celebrating Meg and Jon! Great times with great people.
While the New Orleans bachelor party involved casinos and Bourbon Street, the Asheville weekend included a cabin in the woods, some good hikes and an aggressive bar crawl through the downtown breweries and bars. These trips definitely get me excited for Austin in July.
After a week out of town, we spent President’s Day weekend in town – finally. On Sunday, we decided to drive up north to Tomales Bay for some oysters and the great afternoon weather. It was our first time there, and we are already hoping to go back the following weekend when Scott and Julie come visit.
Over Christmas, we spent some time in Atlanta and Florida – enjoying time with Anna and the Hamiltons and sunsets in Florida with the Trosts. While in Atlanta, we were able to visit Julia’s favorite lunch spot (The Varsity) and her old stomping grounds (Westminster). We also squeezed in a Hamilton family photo shoot with Anna front and center. Definitely tough to go back to work in 2013!
After our engagement and a nice dinner at The Galley, we decided to take the celebration in a slightly different direction. We headed over to everyone’s favorite Nantucket bar – The Chicken Box. The band playing that night was gracious enough to bring us on stage (and to offer to play our wedding next year – if we’d have the reception at the Box!). Our good buddy Andrew was in the crowd and was able to snap a few shots of us on stage with the band.
